Man questioned and released in drug raid

A 39-year-old farmer was questioned and released after he was found in possession of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The man was arrested by Sigatoka Police Drugs operation Team during their raid at Yadua Village in Sigatoka.

The leaves have been sent for analysis whilst the man had been questioned and released pending further investigations.

In another raid, investigations are underway into the uprooting of 19 plants believed to be marijuana from a farm in Korovuto, Nadi.

The raid was conducted by the Drugs Operation Team of Nadi upon information that was given to them.

The owner of the farm is yet to be known, however investigations continue into the matter and the plants being sent for analysis.

Once again, we extend our appreciation to members of the public that are coming out with information leading to these successful raids.

The Fiji Police Force will continue to come down hard on those engaged in this illegal business.
