A man was hit by a taxi this morning near the Government Buildings bus stop in Suva.

Eye witnesses say the man believed to be, Vilive Camainakelo of Nabua, was crossing the road when he was hit by a taxi.

A team from the Fiji Volunteer First Responders were on the scene minutes later to assist the injured man who was then rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Police are still receiving details of the incident and say that an investigation is still being carried out.
