Man fronts court for threatening clerks

A man appeared at the Navua Magistrates Court today for threatening and chasing voter registration clerks from his village of Vunaniu, Serua.

58 year-old Peni Turagacovu has been charged with Criminal Intimidation.

He appeared before magistrate Hettiwattege Shageeth Somaratne and has been bailed to re-appear on August 13th.

Turagacovu is alleged to have threatened voter registration clerks after they turned up a day late at his village to register voters.
