A 53- year- old security officer of Vuci Road in Nausori died following a hit and run accident.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the incident occurred along Vuci South Road, in Nausori at about 6 this morning whereby a 53 -year -old security officer was found by his brother lying in a drain.

Naisoro says the victim was walking some distance ahead of his 40 –year- old brother when a white van, registration unknown, approached them.

Police say according to the 40 -year -old brother, his vision was impacted by the van’s lights and he couldn’t see ahead and after the van had passed he then noticed his brother lying in a nearby drain with visible injuries.

He was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre and later died.
