A 23-year-old man who robbed a family in Kulukulu Sigatoka in 2017 has been sentenced to eight years imprisonment by the Suva High court.

Josaia Dobui pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery.

The court heard that on 9^th September 2017 Dobui and others entered the house of the complainant just before 5am.

The family including a couple and their two young children were sleeping at the time of the incident.

Dobui and others stole items worth over $31, 400.

High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo says that the offense was carried out after careful pre-planning.

Justice Temo says that the crime was also carried out in frightening circumstances as they broke into the victim’s house armed with a pinch bar.

Dobui sentence is to be served concurrently to the current prison term.
