A 37-year-old man has been charged with 11 counts of rape.

He is believed to have raped a 16-year-old student and will be produced at the Navua magistrate court today.

The accused is a mechanic in Nakaulevu in Navua.

Polices spokesperson Josaia Weicavu says police will not tolerate such criminal acts and will see that justice is served.

Police have warned people not to exploit students as our young generation deserve to live without being abused sexually, physically or emotionally.
