Man charged for rape of minor remanded in custody

A 54-year-old man charged with the rape of a 7 year old girl has been remanded in custody.

Serupepeli Bolalailai appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court this morning charged with one count of rape.

He is alleged to have lured the 7 year-old under the pretext of buying her some sweets following which the offense took place.

The case is adjourned for mention at the High Court on 13th November.
