A man charged with 3 counts of rape and a count each of assault causing actual bodily and sexual assault appeared at the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday.

It’s alleged that Shiu Chand raped a 25-year-old woman on January 18, in Nasinu.

Bail has been granted in the sum of $1000 with 2 sureties who have signed a surety bond of $1000 each.

He has been directed to report to the Nasinu Police Station, a stop departure order has been issued and a curfew from 6pm to 6am has been imposed.

Magistrate Charles Ratakele has transferred the matter to the Suva High Court which will be recalled on February 13th.
