Mamanuca Primary school badly damaged

The Mamanuca Primary School on Yanuya village in Yasawa has been badly affected.

School head teacher Sekope Vulaono says they are now beginning to clear up the mass brought by Tropical Cyclone Evan.

“At the moment the situation here is very bad. The hurricane has damaged the school compound. Our media center has been badly damaged and our classrooms and the home teachers quarters and it’s caused very big damage to this village and the school. It took about 4 hours for the hurricane to move on.”

Vulaono adds the weather has improved now as they go about clearing debris.
