The Republic of Fiji Military Forces Task Force Cori Mada, based in Honiara and serving under the Solomon Islands Assistance Force, has been working on two projects in preparation for Infantry Day on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

The first is a cemetery renovation for five war veterans buried at Fijian Quarters number three in Honiara, and the second is a memorial museum in Vilu for 50 Fijian soldiers who died during the Pacific Campaign.

From 1942 to 1944, these soldiers fought and died in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. They are from the 1st and 3rd Fiji Infantry Regiments, as well as the 1st Commando Fiji Guerrillas.
