The Fiji National University’s vision is to make the University world-class and provide students with a modern learning environment.

This as FNU is expected to invest half a billion dollars in the construction of its new buildings and infrastructure over the next ten years.

The major capital project will be executed under the campus master plan which will cover University sites across the country.

FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Healey says along with the repair programme, construction contracts for new buildings have also started.

“In Labasa, a whole new campus is being constructed, about $30m in the first phase, that’s well under construction. We have an Animal hospital that we should be starting construction at Koronivia, that’s a hospital for veterinary science that will include laboratories and teaching facilities.”

Meanwhile, a new four-story academic and administration building and sports complex are also being constructed at the Nasinu Campus.

Professor Healey says this is a very exciting time for tertiary education.
