There’s been a major reduction in the employment grievance report received by the Employment Ministry from workers of the GPH, in Suva.
Minister Parveen Kumar says this is due the continuous monitoring carried out by the Ministry in ensuring that every worker abides by the Employment Relation Act 2007.
Kumar says under the FijiFirst government, they will not allow any abuse of workers in any workplace.
“Mr Speakers Sir in 2016, there has been only 4 grievances report, 2 cases report in 2017, 1 in 2018 and for the information of this Honorable house, all these cases have been resolved.”
The Hotel executive management has also put in place 27 Human Resources Policy Guidelines to assist employers and employees.
He has also confirmed that the General Manager who was alleged to have been abusing staff is no longer part of the GPH Executives.
