Major plans for Rural Electrification: PM

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has stated that there are major plans for rural electrification.

Speaking on the island of Vio in Lautoka, Bainimarama says the government will ensure that renewable and affordable energy are provided to Fijians in rural communities.

He says people should no longer be living without electricity.

Bainimarama says they will continue to tear down the barrier that has long hindered Fiji’s commercial progress.

He also thanked the Government of the United Kingdom for its support towards the Fiji Rural Electrification Fund.

The Prime Minister says as the Pacific region’s most seasoned experts in energy production Energy Fiji Limited is constantly looking to form new partnerships.
