Major Korean developments expected in Fiji

The strengthening of ties between Korea and Fiji government will see major developments in Fiji in years to come.

This includes projects such as biomass energy, solar farms and much more says Fiji’s Ambassador to Korea, Filimoni Kau.

One we being processing form the past years is the Gingko Tropic Woods joint venture in terms of bio mass energy and we have done the ground breaking in August this year and we’re basically now finalising the PPA arrangements with FEA.

Kau hopes the construction phase will commence early next year.

He adds discussion is underway about a solar farm project.

Another one that is being discuss now is the solar farm that is 35 US million dollar project by Astrono energy from Korea, they have wide experience in terms of solar farm program and they have successfully develop some big farms in China, India, Bulgaria, Thailand and now they are very interested in Fiji.

Kau is in the country for the ambassadors and high commissioners meeting next week.
