The Fiji National Provident Fund has approved major changes to its withdrawal policies to enhance the pre-retirement benefits.

These changes cover housing, funeral, unemployment, medical and education assistance.

FNPF General Manager Member Services Alipate Waqairawai says the changes will ensure that product offerings are relevant to meet the members’ expectations given the changing economic and social conditions.

Waqairawai says member forums have been very beneficial for them.

“When we go down to member forums we receive suggestions from members which we then take back to the Head Office. We evaluate and review the suggestions that are put forward by our members in these forums and we see whether the changes will add value to our members.”

Effective February, the changes also include mode of payment for processing fees, allowing members to have fees directly deducted from their balances.
