The Mairuru road in Ba is now open to all traffic after the Mairuru Bridge collapsed yesterday.

The Higgins and FRA maintenance team worked overnight to remove the bridge deck and construct a temporary culvert beside the collapsed bridge.

This can be used by bus and cane trucks now.

The bridge collapsed as a truck carrying supplies was crossing it.
