Maintain good hygiene: Akbar

December 27, 2016 3:50 am

Maintaining good hygiene should remain a priority for all families after the recent flooding.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar says people should clean their homes thoroughly and watch what sort of food they purchase from shops.

“It’s basically taking personal responsibilities to ensure their own homes are cleaned first and there is good source of drinking water and if need be- boil all drinking water and not buying food that were damaged during the flood and disposing and burying their livestock. So just keeping everything clean and placing hygiene at the priority for the family’s welfare.”

Akbar says they haven’t received any reports of disease outbreaks and they are still working with DISMAC monitoring situations on the affected grounds.
