The Land Transport Authority is urging parents to keep a close watch on their children during the two weeks of school holidays.

LTA Chief Executive Samuel Simpson highlighted that it is important to remind parents of the need to ensure that children are safe and not exposed to the dangers of playing near roads and traffic.

Simpson stressed that parents should always know where their children are playing and ensure that they are always safe.

He says roads and motor vehicles are a dangerous mixture for children and keeping them safe is vitally important adding that parents should also be preparing their children for the return to school by reminding them of basic road safety rules.
