There will be new fines for road offences soon.

The new rates have been endorsed by the former Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Pio Tikoduadua.

LTA chief executive Naisa Tuinaceva says there are still working on the implementation phase of the new fines.

“We are pushing for this, we want this to take place as quickly as possible hopefully if all the processes are achieved by next month we will be able to enforce the new fines few weeks down the line.”

Tuinaceva says the $50 fine will go up to $100 and the $100 fine will be increased to $300.
