The Land Transport Authority will support and continue its ongoing new programmes in 2017 following an allocation of $25.5m in the new national budget.

From this, $19million will be spent on their operating budget and $6.5 million will be used for capital expenditures.

LTA chief executive Naisa Tuinaceva says they’re grateful for the grant.

“We intend to bring in more cameras to assist us and will be relying on Technology to assist us and to make sure our roads are safe. Also we are looking at how we can have more officers and manpower to assist us.”

Tuinaceva adds that the increased number of vehicles on our roads is another challenge the Authority has to deal with in 2017.
