“This will make us more effective in enforcing road safety rules and this is a positive step forward. The purpose of road Marshalls is to be our eyes and ears on the roads in disseminating information.”

Wiliame says the road marshalls will not issue finesbut the presence and awareness will be a wakeup call to habitual offenders.

“Their disciplined back ground will greatly assist us in enforcement strategies as we aim to reduce the number of road offenders, bad behavior and attitudes of some drivers.”

The Authority aims to recruit five thousand marshalls by the end of the year.
