The proposed new national road speed test is on trial on some roads.
This will be carried out until December.
For the purpose of Speed Enforcement during this trial period, only vehicles that travel over the National Speed Limit of 80 kmph will be booked and fined accordingly.
Most of the speed reviews will be conducted on roads in the Central Division especially along the Suva/Nausori corridor.
LTA spokesperson Iliesa Sokia says after almost a year of planning and consultation with local stakeholders and overseas experts, a framework has been drawn to test the proposed new speed.
A report will be compiled which will be submitted to the government for final endorsement.
LTA is conducting the review with the Fiji Police in consultation with the Fiji Roads Authority.
