The Fiji Police Force and the Land Transport Authority will change their style of operation as we approach the festive season.
They say they will now use more efficient methods to reduce the road death toll.
LTA chief executive Naisa Tuinaceva says looking at the alarming number of road fatalities and accidents around the country they are now re-looking at their campaign strategy.
“In terms of the number of accidents and the number of fatalities – it is showing the other way around. For us just like the director has mentioned it will be the lifting of the standard of our work, it means changing of our strategies of what we were doing to what we believe we need to do to address the situation.”
Fifty-nine road fatalities have been recorded so far this year, 15 more when compared to the same period last year.
