The review of the Land Transport Act 1998 is underway.

Transport Minister Parveen Kumar says the ministry is working closely with LTA and the Solicitor General’s Office to amend the act to meet international best practice.

He says the amendments will embrace the new age technology.

“The challenge to bring about operational effectiveness and improved customer service is now at the forefront of the Land Transport Authority’s Management Performance indicators. This will be closely monitored by the Land Transport Authority Board to ensure compliance.”

Kumar urged the stakeholders of the Land Transport sector to help bring about the positive changes that will benefit the country as a whole.
