Most areas in Ba will be experiencing low water pressure to no water at times during the day.

The Water Authority of Fiji says the affected areas include Moto, Motoruku, Tabataba, Tauvegavega, Namosau, Korovatu, Vutuni, Yalalevu, Nailaga and Varoko.

WAF says that due to the recent dry spell the river inflow has been affected and water level at the reservoir is also low thus low water pressure will be experienced.

It adds that due to the recent flooding and cyclones, two gravity transmission pipelines from Varaciva and Waiwai Dams in Ba were severely damaged.

To address this, a temporary intake has been installed at the Waiwai River before restoration work of gravity system is carried out in Waiwai and Varaciva.

Restoration work on the gravity transmission pipelines has staretd and will commission Waiwai Dam pipe line within the next two weeks.

Residents living in these areas are advised to store enough water for washing, cooking and drinking.
