Low pressure system remains slow moving over Fiji

A heavy rain warning that was previously in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Group has been cancelled.

The Fiji Meteorological office says a weak trough of low pressure remains slow moving towards the country.

The system will affect the country till Tuesday.

Fijians can expect cloudy periods with isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with heavy falls.

For eastern and interior parts of the larger islands: cloudy periods with some showers with isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms and heavy falls.

A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas adjacent to and downstream of Naqali station.
