Low income earners to be provided lots first: Navuda

March 2, 2019 6:20 am

The newly housing flats in Tavua when completed will be given first to low income earners.

This also includes those who have already registered their names in the Housing Authority’s database.

Housing Authority General Manager Land and Housing Development – Isikeli Navuda says if anyone shows interest, it can also be considered.

Navuda says there about two hundred Fijians who have already shown interest in occupying the flats even though the development is still in its initial stage.

“There are some probably over qualified. We will be looking at the lower and the middle earn market first and after we’ve accommodated those then we will go up the scale but mostly we want to target the low earn market people who actually should be able to afford the lots as they are today.”

The Tavua Housing project is a new development that is currently being undertaken – aimed at providing the first 119 lots to the lower and middle income earners once completed.
