The Minister for Health has praised and acknowledged the hard work put in by local doctors.

Speaking at the launching of the MIOT Pacific Hospitals last night at GPH, Rosy Akbar, says that most times the effort put in by local doctors are not recognized.

She highlighted a particular case which involved the local doctors at the Labasa Hospital.

“I was informed earlier this week that a visiting team from the CWM Hospital recently completed the first-ever brain surgery in Labasa Hospital a successful brain surgery and it was a first for Labasa which was a great achievement.”

However, the Minister says that local doctors and nurses will always be under the spotlight as they are providing an essential service.
