Minister for Agriculture Dr. Mahendra Reddy

Minister for Agriculture Dr. Mahendra Reddy has warned farmers who slaughter and sell meat without certification.

Dr. Reddy says all the livestock meat that is sold in the market should be certified and should go through the abattoirs.

He says it is illegal to slaughter an animal, even for family or home consumption which is not certified or does not go through an abattoir.

Dr. Reddy adds this will be done as the government does not want to put any one’s health at risk by consuming meat which has not gone through a proper slaughterhouse.
