The Health ministry has expressed their concern on the rise of litter noted at most public places around the country.

“The careless disposal of rubbish poses an environmental degradation and at the same time rubbish contains bacteria which pose a health risk to our people. It’s part of the ministry’s efforts to see that we have a safe and healthy environment to stay in which means a healthy population.”

Namotu adds they have health inspectors who will now be stepping and be more vigilant on people who will litter around the towns and cities in Fiji.
