Lifeline Fiji will soon open new offices in the West and the North to increase their visibility.

Officer in charge of Lifeline Fiji, Jeremaia Merekula says they will be able to carry out more awareness programs for Fijians in rural areas with increased visibility.

Merekula says it is important that people speak up and raise their issues.

“As we come from a cultural silence background where we don’t talk. Most of us Fijians we bottle up our emotions and what we go through in a day. So the main thing on which we raise awareness is the importance of reaching out for help and speaking out if you are going through any crisis.”

Meanwhile, Lifeline Australia has been assisting Lifeline Fiji by holding refresher training twice a year for crisis support workers in our country.
