The Life Insurance Corporation of India will be paying a bonus of $9m to its policy holders this year.

LICI General Manager Vimlesh Dhar says this is the highest amount paid in any year so far.

“We have around 58, 000 policy holders as of 2014 ending now which is up by 10% over the number of policy holders we had as on 2013. This also includes 4, 000 plus policy holders under our group insurance schemes’’.

LICI’s total investment stood at $454m as at December last year and Dhar says it has doubled in the last four years.
