Women Minister Mereseini Vuniwaqa has wished all the moms in Fiji a joyous Mother’s Day.

Vuniwaqa commended the efforts undertaken by women in different communities’ everyday which benefits their families and loved ones.

The Minister says gender equality and empowerment of women is important as it also helps a country to move forward.

“In whichever sector you are, in whatever work that you do, whether it’s paid employment or unpaid care giving at home, to continue and give it your best shot. To know in whatever thing you are undertaking in the community you live in, it’s making an impact on the economy in one way or another.”

Vuniwaqa is also calling on children and family members to always appreciate their mothers as they do so much for us on a daily basis.
