Legacies of indentured labourers must be acknowledged: Akbar

Indentured laborers, forefathers, and faith-based organizations have played a vital role in education.

Education Minister Rosy Akbar says we must always acknowledge the legacies left by the indentured laborers which is education.

Speaking at the Vatukoula Arya Samaj Primary School Akbar says buildings can be built by anyone but the quality of education is determined by the teachers.

“Now we are giving you conducive classrooms where quality learning should take place. Please ensure that our governments’ vision of educating every child, leaving no child behind whether the child is a special child or whether the child is academically doing well or not every child must have the same access to education and the responsibility lies on the teachers.”

Akbar says teachers make a good impact on the lives of the students and they need to work together to strengthen their duty for the care of children.
