The Land Transport Authority is concerned with the number of left hand drive vehicles being imported without prior approval from the Authority.
Chief executive, Carmine Piatendosi, has warned if these vehicles are imported without prior approval, the owners will not be able to register it for use on our roads.
The Land Transport Act states that LTA can only register such vehicles if they meet the criteria for exemption.
Piantedosi says the left hand drive vehicles pose risks to road users as they are not designed for our roads or traffic laws.
