The funeral of the late Fiji Labour Party President Lavenia Padarath will be held tomorrow at Wesley Church, Butt Street Suva.

Padarath passed away at the age of 74 on Sunday morning.

The Fiji Labour Party presented their i-reguregu to her family last night.

Her son, Ben Padarath says the family mourns the loss of a mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and sister.

Padarath says the body of his late mother will be taken to her residence at Bayview Heights this afternoon.

He adds that the i-reguregu will continue today and following the church service tomorrow morning, Lavenia Padarath will be laid to rest next to her late husband at the Nasinu Cemetry.

She served as the Minister for Women, Culture and Social Welfare in the 1999/2000 Labour Government.

She was also appointed to the position of party leader in 2011.
