The Fiji Sugar Corporation CEO Graham Clark says that the Lautoka Mill will ensure issues faced during last crushing season will be sorted.

Clark says that one major challenge they faced was the time it took for the cane to be crushed.

“It’s a funny thing you know because when the Mill starts to work it pulls on the cane supply and I believe that our cane supply had become a little bit used to poor Mill performance and the lorries sitting in the cue for many hours and suddenly the Mill started working performing well and the lorries were pulled through quicker than usually so we ran out of cane.”

Clark adds that these issues once resolved will certainly fasten the supply for farmers to get their cane into the Lautoka Mill.
