An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

Director of Meteorology Alipate Waqaicelua says areas affected will experience heavy showers at times.

“At this stage it is covering the South Western half of Fiji from the Mamanuca’s to Viti Levu, Lomaiviti, Southern Lau and Kadavu. It is causing rain over these areas. In some of these areas rain is coming down heavy."

Waqaicelua says the active trough of low pressure will remain over Fiji for the next two days.

“At this stage we are not seeing any indication of intense heavy rainfall so it should not cause any alarm to any member of the public.
