Late permit requests will not be accepted

The Fiji Police Force will not be accepting late applications for permits to people who want to have meetings.

Police Spokesperson – Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says they are concerned at the amount of applications coming in three to four days prior to a meeting or gathering.

Under the law applications should be made seven days before the event.

“Applying for permits for the meeting or for any function please submit your application seven days before the event. We have been receiving applications very late and some people are even coming on the day of the meeting or event.”

Sokomuri is urging people to be mindful of the law as they will not be entertaining any late applications.
