Many Fijians could be seen flocking to stores in Suva this afternoon to get a Diwali attire along with their last minute shopping.
Infashion store Manager, Suresh Kumar told FBC News that more than a hundred people of different ethnicities have visited his shop and purchased clothes for Diwali.
“Last week was a bit slow but this week it has really picked up because it’s getting busy. Plenty people of many various races come in and buy the clothes for Diwali festival. So many customers are coming in at the beginning of this week and many more expected to come.”
Kumar says Diwali is not only limited to one particular community in Fiji but a shared festivity with other races, as this is the real meaning of the festival of light.
