Itaukei Landowners will continue to benefit from the Land Bank.
Permanent Secretary Itaukei Affairs Naipote Katonitabua made this statement after ongoing speculation of rumors that Land Bank will not benefit landowners.
Katonitabua says they will continue to encourage landowners to invest their land in the land bank as it will bring a lot of economic benefits to all Fijians.
“The main beneficiary of engaging in the land bank is that most of the lease money is being provided to the land owners and not to the Ministry so most of the lease money are directed to the landowners themselves.”
Katonitabua says it is vital for land owners to fully understand the composition of the Land Bank.
Land owners who registered under the Land Bank will enable Itaukei Affairs to easily allocate the fair share of lease money to each members of the Land owning unit.
