Landowners to form association again

Landowners in Monasavu will re-establish the landowners association at Naqelewai next week to address old grievances with relevant authorities.

The Monasavu Landowners Association was last in existence 18 years ago.

Landowners spokesperson, Senitiki Naqa says they’re reviving the association so that they can re-visit their claims for compensation from the Monasavu Dam and Wailoa power station.

Naqa says they’d raised their concerns with relevant authorities in the past but they haven’t been addressed yet.

i-Taukei Land Trust Board General Manager, Alipate Qetaki says he cannot comment on the issue.

He adds the landowners should raise their concerns with the nearest TLTB office instead of the media.
