There is still a lot of work needed in the Land Transport Industry.

Minister for Anti-Corruption Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who commissioned the report says it highlights some key recommendations.

Sayed-Khaiyum says one of the areas that they have to look at is the registration of motor vehicles and the issuing of taxi licenses.

‘’if you are a new car company requiring to register motor vehicles there is no ability to have accounts, you will always pay cash for example Niranjans or whoever these are’’.

On the issue of Taxi Licenses how many taxi licenses should you give? There’s so many people wanting taxi licenses, should it be based on the population size.

Minister Pio Tikoduadua says they will work on the recommendations that are in the report and continue the exercise of gathering public opinions.
