Land to be developed by Bhindi Investment

About 2500 people in Nanuku and Veidogo settlement in Vatuwaqa will be relocated to a land in Makoi.

This was revealed by the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum as the development of the land in Vatuwaqa will be done by the Bhindi Family Investment.

The Bhindi Family Investment will develop the land in Vatuwaqa at a cost of 12 million dollars.

Sayed-Khaiyum says discussions have already been done with families living in the two settlements.

“We are quite happy to announce that this area will have of course water proper water supply and electricity supply and proper drainage, all of this will be part of this development.”

All families will be given a thousand dollars each for the relocation and a block each with a 99 year lease.
