Close to 60,000 primary school students who sat the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment this year can expect to have their results next month.
Acting Permanent Secretary Education Basundra Kumar says 729 schools are administering LANA an increase of 132 schools.
Kumar says there was a change in the way they assessed the papers.
“First time for it to be electronically marked because its easier and its very transparent and because the LANA examination are basically multiple choice, circling so it’s easy for it to be marked electronically.”
Kumar adds national Literacy and numeracy assessment was conducted for classes 4, 6 and 8.
Results will be sent to schools this week.
