After three assessors found Samson Lal not guilty of the murder of Manual Das yesterday, today High Court Judge Vincent Perera convicted him of manslaughter.

Forty-four-year-old Lal killed forty-eight-year-old Dass in a drunken dispute at Jittu Estate, Raiwaqa in May 2016.

The deceased, used to sell goods along Sese Street in Samabula, Suva.

When delivering his judgment, Judge Perera said the accused knew what he was doing and the circumstances of the case, proved manslaughter.

Lal will be sentenced tomorrow.
