The Housing Authority is now proceeding with the engagement of graduate engineers, architects and other personnel in the technical field given the need for more specialized workers.
General Manager Housing Land/Housing Development Isikeli Navuda says a lack in these skills are some of the challengers that they currently face in housing development, however the aim with graduates is that it will improve work in the future.
Navuda says graduates become quite competent after one or two years with them
”The people are coming in, we have seen graduates coming out of Universities and probably will need more as time goes along. For other institution like Water Authority and Fiji Roads Authority they also absorbing a lot of this so probably the number might increases as we move forward.”
Navuda says the lack of technical workers is one of the challengers faced by the Authority in the progress of housing developments.
