Lack of rain to affect cane plant growth

December 14, 2015 5:28 pm

The cane crop for 2015 must start receiving good rain by next month.

South Pacific Fertilizers Company Limited Lautoka General Manager-Ashween Ram told FBC News that if this does not happen, cane growth will be affected.

Ram says the lack of rain will affect the size of the sugar cane which will in turn affect tonnage – meaning less production overall.
