Lack of Ambulances is a current concern generally across Fiji.

Minister for Health and Medical Services, Jone Usamate says the Health Ministry is trying its best to enhance its services on this particular area.

“We have issues with ambulances. That’s something we are looking into, trying to enhance that particular service. At the moment within the ministry of health, our only ambulances are responsible with the transfer from one facility to another health facility, that an area we are trying to strengthen, we are trying to identify ways in which we can get more ambulances.”

Usamate says pickups for ambulances from home to a facility is something that’s done by Fire Authority and Saint John.

The Health Minister visited the Nausori Hospitals and CWM this week to held talks with medical officers in enhancing medical service delivery.
