The Ministry of Health’s Laboratory staff have been advised to provide quality and accessible service.

This comes after the review of the Laboratory Quality Management System implementation in Fiji.

Speaking at the National Laboratory Strategic Workshop today, Health Minister Jone Usamate says ensuring the sustainability of laboratory service should be maintained at various divisional hospitals.

‘’Quality improvement must become the heart of the practice in all our laboratory and it must become the normal part of doing work’’.

Usamate says sustainability can also be achieved through constant capacity building of all levels of staff in terms of continuous training.

Health Laboratory Service has been provided in Fiji since the beginning of modern day medicine.

The service is regarded as an important part of Health service in the country.
